Education has for a long time played a big part in how Glo and Pipeline serve the local community. We believe that every young person has a right to good and aspirational education, and we know that at times our current education system can’t always cater for every individual’s needs. ‘Aspire’ is the name given to all of our educational projects. We run two main courses for 16-19 Year olds throughout the year and a rehabilitative course for individuals over 21 who are rough sleeping or Sofa surfing. We have also explored other avenues of adult education as we believe this is one of the ways that we will see Thanet transformed. It is a huge privilege to be involved in people’s lives in this way and to have an opportunity to show someone they are believed in, not just in a classroom, but as an individual too. Within all of our educational projects there are a number of opportunities to volunteer most weekdays, both academically and in supporting/mentoring roles. So if you feel that you have a real heart to see people access education and overcome some of the barriers that they face then there may be a role for you.
