Church Life is all about the life of each individual in Glo Gen and how they can grow in their Passion for God, for each other and the work that we do as a church. Jesus was known for his passion for God, the psalms quote ‘Passion for Gods house has consumed me’ (ps 69), its this same passion we long to see in church life.
There are lots of new and exciting things happening in and around Church Life that will certainly get everyone moving into new relationships, opportunities and best of all deeper into Jesus. Jesus once said that we will be known by our love for one another, these new developments will give more room for relationship and the chance to spur each other on our of attitudes of love and celebration.
All change, all aboard. Do we need to change? Well, we need to grow up and mature as Christians and we can do that by learning from and sharing with each other. The Bible tells us that we need to change – it says we need to “transform”. Romans 12v 2 says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”.
Renewing means to be made new, or to begin again, so, at the beginning of a New Year, we need to begin again to think more like Jesus thinks so that we can be transformed to be more like him. We’ve all seen those transformers where a robot transforms into an aeroplane or a car. By renewing our mind and thinking differently, more like Jesus, we can also be like transformers and change from something ordinary to be more like him – extraordinary! This spiritual transformation is all part of us maturing as Christians and its exciting! 2 Corinthians 3 v 18 shows just how exciting this transformation and maturing is “And we, who with unveiled faces, all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever increasing glory which comes from the Lord”
To be transformed is a process, not a single event, and as we live life together as church, we can help each other mature and transform to be more like Jesus. And it’s for all of us! All aboard for change!
GLO CAFE_ As you will be aware Glo gen now has its very own Cafe situated at the back of the ware house on the right hand side. If you haven’t been there or tried the coffee before, you could be mistaken into thinking it was just a regular coffee bar – but it delivers a lot more than that. Stocked with purchasable refreshments, as well as a giant array of coffee’s and tea, the cafe in Glo gen is a nice relaxing place where you can sit down and chat with others in an environment that feels like you could be sitting in your own living room. From February there will be opportunities to get something to eat and hang out after a Sunday service, to really give ourselves a chance as church to be with one another without having to organise ourselves around diaries but that you can just be at after church.
